From Uncertainty to Intention: A Diaper Row Transformation

The Why Behind the Work
At the start of this project, the client felt stuck and uninspired by their current living situation. They were ready for a meaningful level-up and signed the contract just before the world shut down. Almost overnight, excitement turned into fear as uncertainty set in. They needed to know the risk was worth it and that the end result would support them long-term, not add more stress. More than anything, they wanted clarity and confidence in a moment that felt overwhelming.

How We Brought It to Life
With COVID shutdowns creating constant uncertainty, the approach had to be steady and strategic. Instead of designing for short-term comfort, every decision was filtered through long-term value and resale potential. Although a simple 2/2 would have worked personally, adding a third bedroom made far more sense financially and functionally. By gutting the home, closing in the side entry for a dedicated office, and adding onto the back, the layout was reworked into something flexible, future-proof, and confident—even in an unpredictable moment.
Intentional Design Choices

Client Reflections
“We usually love to move and try new homes, but this one has everything we need and want. It’s rare for us to feel truly settled, but this house just works. We love it here and have no intention of moving anytime soon.”

The Finished Space
The completed renovation transformed the home from disjointed and tight into something open, airy, and full of character. The reworked layout created a natural flow between spaces, making the house feel larger, calmer, and far more intentional. The expanded kitchen and oversized pantry elevated daily functionality and supported healthier, more sustainable routines. Beyond the physical transformation, this project marked a turning point—proving that thoughtful, well-guided decisions could turn uncertainty into clarity and ultimately kickstart a design career built on confidence and trust.
